Glacial Moraine Hike
This event happened in the past.Falmouth, MA 02540
Take a 9-mile hike along Falmouth’s longest trail, the glacial moraine trail, with the Buzzards Bay Coalition and The 300 Committee. The trail follows the hilly and forested terrain of the Buzzards Bay glacial moraine, which was created thousands of years ago by a receding ice sheet. Throughout the hike, you’ll look for scenic views and common species of plants, animals, and birds.
This moderately difficult hike will take about 5 hours, including a stop for lunch. Bring lunch and plenty of water, and wear appropriate shoes.
Meet at Goodwill Park in Falmouth at 9:30am. Enter the park from Gifford Street and going 0.3 miles to the parking lot on the right. Please plan to carpool at 9:45am to the northern end of the trail to start the hike off Rt. 151, just east of Rt. 28.
