Features
Barlows Landing is located on Pocasset Harbor, a protected waterway just southeast of the Cape Cod Canal. The beach is a great place to bring kids because it’s sandy, calm, and shallow. And with beautiful west-facing water views, Barlows Landing is an excellent spot to watch a summer sunset.
For boaters, the boat ramp at Barlows Landing is an entryway to the waters of upper Buzzards Bay and the Cape Cod Canal. Launch from here, and you can enjoy a day of fishing on the Bay’s open waters or lounging by nearby Bassetts Island. (A town beach sticker is required for parking.)
Habitats & Wildlife
Pocasset Harbor and neighboring Red Brook Harbor form a sheltered nook along the eastern shore of Buzzards Bay. Salt marshes line the harbor’s shores just north and south of Barlows Landing, which makes Pocasset Harbor a haven for paddlers to explore. Watch gulls and terns wing their way through the skies in summer, while in winter, look for ducks rafting on the harbor’s icy surface.
