Join Nancy Mahoney from The Canine Club in Dartmouth for a dog walk at Destruction Brook Woods on Saturday, October 1 at 9 a.m., and learn more about dog etiquette on the trails at the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust’s largest reserve. This walk is in partnership with the Dartmouth Dog Advisory Work Group and Westport Land Conservation Trust (WLCT). WLCT will lead a dog walk on its on Saturday, October 15.

The 280-acre Destruction Brook Woods Reserve includes miles of walking trails, mature woodlands that include American Beech and Atlantic White Cedar, unusual rock ledges covered with many interesting ferns and lichens, and Destruction Brook itself, once a major source of water power for the mills of Russell’s Mills.

Dogs must be on leash for this walk and the walk will run approximately 60-90 minutes. The walk begins and ends at the parking area at Destruction Brook Woods on Slades Corner Road about a mile from Davolls General Store in Russells Mills Village.

Usually only the worst weather will cancel a DNRT walk. If the weather is questionable, call (508) 525-9266 or check dnrt.org on the morning of the walk.
