Guided Bird Walk – Flax Pond, Lower & Middle Bog
This event happened in the past.Falmouth, MA 02536
Join The 300 Committee on a walk around town-owned cranberry bogs and past bordering woodlands at Flax Pond. Many wintering birds, such as white-throated sparrow, northern cardinal, white-breasted nuthatch, and tufted titmouse, will be active at this site.
The 300 Committee bird walks, led by Molly Cornell, are open to “newbies,” seasoned birders, and anyone in between. The walks are easy-paced, and while there will be pauses to observe many aspects of nature, the focus is mainly on birds. Join this group walk and sharpen your bird identification skills using field marks, vocalization, and patterns of bird behavior.
Directions: Off John Parker Road in East Falmouth, take the unpaved driveway opposite Flax Pond Road down to the cleared area adjacent to Lower Bog.
