Take a woodland stroll through the Lloyd Center in the late afternoon, when bird activity can also be high. By this time, leaves have appeared on trees making songbirds less visible, but colorful species such as the Baltimore oriole (Icterus galbula) may be spotted. Breeding pairs are setting up territories and vocally making their presence known. Shorebirds and raptors such as osprey (Pandion haliaetus) are also potential sightings. Take advantage of the variety of habitats that the Lloyd Center offers including forest edges, kettle ponds, vernal pools, salt marsh, and estuary.
Participants should bring binoculars and a bird guide if they have them.
Cost: $3 members, $5 non-members, $2 children under 12
