Upgraded in 2017, the Onset Boat Ramp features a 16-foot-wide, 104-foot-long concrete launching ramp into Broad Cove. From here, you can quickly reach Onset Bay and the waters of upper Buzzards Bay near the Cape Cod Canal. It’s also a place where paddlers can put in a kayak or paddleboard to explore the calm shorelines of Broad Cove and Muddy Cove.

Habitats & Wildlife

Onset Bay is a recreational paradise for outdoor enthusiasts of all types, but it’s particularly popular with anglers. In spring and fall, striped bass move into Onset Bay and other inshore waters, providing an excellent destination for striper fishing. The Onset Boat Ramp is the closest launch to great Onset Bay fishing spots such as Point Independence and Wickets Island.
