Watch a short film and clean up a beach to celebrate Earth Day! The 2018 Earth Day theme is “End Plastic Pollution.”

At 1:00 p.m., gather in the Harbourton Auditorium at the Woods Hole Research Center to watch Plastic is Forever, a short film by student filmmaker Dylan D’Haeze. A presentation by a representative of Falmouth’s Skip the Straw campaign will follow. At 2:00 p.m., we’ll proceed to Surf Drive, where groups will be given an area of beach or roadside to clean, and we’ll do our part to reduce plastic pollution along this very popular and scenic stretch of Falmouth.

Gloves will be provided for the cleanup. Please pre-register for this event and wear sturdy shoes. In the event of inclement weather, the program at WHRC will be held as planned at 1:00 p.m and the beach cleanup will be postponed.
