Want to get your kids more comfortable out on the water? Has your family always wanted to learn to sail, but doesn’t know where to start? Join the Coalition for an introduction to the principles of sailing and a morning cruise on beautiful Onset Bay!

Coalition educators will walk you and your kids through the basics of sailing aboard our 14-foot RS Quest sailboats, and then take you out for a sail through the calm waters of Onset Bay. Adventurous attendants of all ages are welcome to try their hand at steering the boat and controlling the sail as we go, but you’re also welcome to just ride along with us and get used to the feeling of moving by wind power!

Families and adults, with or without children, are welcome. (If you are interested in an adult-only Intro to Sailing, please see our program on Thursday, September 13.) This program will be suitable for kids ages 8+.

Wear shoes and clothes that you are comfortable with getting wet. Life jackets will be provided. We strongly recommend arriving 15 minutes early if possible, as transport to our dock at Burgess Point can take some time.

In case of heavy rain or wind, or thunderstorms, the foul weather date for this sail will be Saturday, October 6, from 10-12. All registrants will be automatically registered for the backup sail should foul weather cancel.
