Get outside, engage with peers, and design a community service project that will help Onset!
Teens Take Action is a seven-session program specifically geared toward teens (12+) who are looking to get involved in their community. It’s free, it’s safe and it’s hands-on.
Participants will gain maritime and local marine science knowledge, communication and leadership skills, and a larger understanding of Buzzards Bay. The group will collaborate in developing an environmental project plan and work together to engage the community to take action on it. They will use critical thinking skills and creativity to become environmental stewards of Wareham and Onset Bay. Registration for this class is free.
The program will run on Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m., Sept. 25 through Nov. 11. The weekly focus for each week is as follows:
October 2nd: Watershed Stewardship
October 9th: Community Clean-Up
October 16th: Field Research
October 23rd: Project Plan
November 6th: Take Action!
