Let’s get back to school and back on the bay! This Saturday afternoon program for teens ages 13-17, running 1:00 – 4:00 pm, is designed to provide teens with formal sailing instruction on our fleet of sailing vessels. In addition to teaching sailing skills, the program encourages teenage participants to develop and display characteristics such as leadership, critical decision making, and responsibility through activities on and off the water. The sailing level is flexible given the participants, and the content is designed to introduce, develop and challenge sailing skills at all levels. Prior sailing experience is not required. Participants must be physically able to maneuver aboard their craft, must feel comfortable swimming with a life jacket/PFD, and must be prepared to get wet in the event of an accidental capsize. Please come prepared for the day’s weather including appropriate layers for warmth, comfortable shoes (that may get wet), and extra clothing and shoes to change if necessary. Waterproof and non-cotton and non-denim clothing preferred.
