Falmouth is Buzzards Bay’s easternmost town, with Bourne to the north and the island communities of Gosnold and Martha’s Vineyard to the south. The town covers 46 square miles, and 42% of that area is located within the Buzzards Bay watershed. As of the 2010 Census, Falmouth was home to 31,531 year-round residents, although in summer that population triples. The town’s shoreline stretches 68 miles along Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound and includes several major harbors, coves, and estuaries.
