Onset Bay Center Team

Angie has been with the Coalition's full-time team for 3 years and is thrilled to be starting her 4th summer with the Onset Bay Center! Angie serves as the Director for summer programs and oversees the Center's staff and programs year-round. Angie's favorite OBC activities are the Giant Paddleboard and the New Year's Day Polar Plunge!

Stuart has served as VP for the Coalition's Outdoor Exploration department for the last 3 years, and brings with him a wealth of knowdlege about sailing, watersports, and adventure programming for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages! During the summer, you can find Stuart driving OBC's launch, Bufflehead, breaking out the windsurfing equipment, and brainstorming his next costume for our Halloween Paddle Parade!

Year-round, Carly functions as the Coalition's Outdoor Learning Manager, fostering partnerships with New Bedford and Wareham Public Schools. Carly joins the OBC staff this summer for her first year as Head Counselor. Carly looks forward to bringing engaging activities to our lunchtime break, sharing her ideas for creative outdoor programming (ex: YOGA!!!), and getting to know our participants and staff this summer!

Meet our Health Care Consultant for Summer 2025, Kayla Blount! Kayla will be helping our team of instructors and on-site Health Care Supervisors throughout the summer! Kayla, a Wareham native, has been a nurse for 10 years and has held a pediatric nurse practitioner license for the past 7 years. Kayla currently spends her school year as a nurse at Wareham Elementary School. Kayla is also a mom and is excited to be apart of this program this summer!

Highly qualified Sailing Instructors are ready to hop aboard our fleet with you this summer! Each instructor has their First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, US Sailing Level 1 or 2 Instructor certification, and American Red Cross Waterfront Safety certification! How could you KNOT have fun learning from such a dynamic team of sailors?

Our experienced Waterfront Instructors are eager to share their knowledge of kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, rowing, and exploring with you this summer! Each instructor has their First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, American Canoe Association Level 1 or 2 Paddle Instructor certification, and American Red Cross Waterfront Safety certification. There's no certification in FUN (that we know of...), but if there was, we know our Waterfront Instructors would ace that course, too!

Our Junior Instructors, ages 15-18, support our programs and participants! Many were former participants who were inspired to join our staff team! Junior Instructors receive First Aid, CPR, and AED training, as well as in-house watersports training each summer! They are excited to empower the next generation of Explorers and Sailors to follow in their footsteps!
