If you’re taking the plunge at the Buzzards Bay Swim — or just considering it — join us at the finish line at Fort Phoenix State Reservation for an open water swim clinic and event orientation!

From 10:30 to 11, Buzzards Bay Swim Event Managers will give an overview of the event and answer questions about the Swim. YMCA Southcoast Swim Coaches will offer first-hand knowledge of the course and tips for improving your efficiency, stroke, and sighting in open water.

Want to skip the orientation? Just arrive at 11am to hop in and swim! From 11 to 12, we’ll jump in Buzzards Bay for a practice swim together. This is an opportune time to try out your wetsuit or other gear in open water and gain experience swimming part of the course.

This free swim clinic is open to all, including those who have registered or are considering registering for the Buzzards Bay Swim on June 22. Wetsuits are highly recommended if water is below 67 degrees. Bring your wetsuit, goggles, and questions, and we’ll jump in for a practice swim together! Feel free to bring friends that might be interested in learning more about the Swim.

This clinic is one of two we will hold ahead of the Buzzards Bay Swim. Join us for the second clinic on June 15.
