Did you know there is iron in our cranberry bogs that was used in the war for America’s independence? Did you know people accidentally discovered you could farm cranberries less than 200 years ago?

Join the Department of Conservation and Recreation for short hike around a working cranberry bog at Myles Standish State Forest. The guided group will discuss and explore how cranberries are grown and the history of the bog, including the agriculture and natural history of the park. You’ll also learn about nearby federal furnace, glaciation, and the area’s wildlife. This event is for ages 10 and up.
