This event happened in the past.Rochester, MA 02770
*Due to forecasts of heavy rain and thunder on the afternoon of July 6, this event has been cancelled.*
You and your kids can discover the outdoors at Family Friday Explorations, a series of three free outings on Fridays in July hosted by the Buzzards Bay Coalition and Plumb Library. These programs are part of Plumb Library’s “Libraries Rock” summer program series, which all focus on learning through music. Through fun games and hands-on activities, your family will learn about the Buzzards Bay region’s animals, plants, and habitats.
Family Friday Explorations are recommended for families with elementary school-aged children. We encourage you to attend all three programs, but it’s not required.
This week we will be exploring Doggetts Brook and learning about amphibians!

- Amphibians (July 6): Learn about frogs, toads, salamanders, and more at Doggetts Brook.
- Water and Weather (July 13): Learn about the amazing sounds found in nature, including a search for river inhabitants among the remnants of the old sawmill at Church’s Field.
- Birds (July 20): Keep an eye out for spectacular birds like titmice, chickadees, and meadowlark at Shoolman Preserve.
