Learn about the shellfish that live in Falmouth’s local waters during this free discovery day hosted by the Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Falmouth Department of Marine and Environmental Services. We’ll teach you the basics of local quahogging – what you need, how to do it, and where to go – and introduce you to the bay scallops that swim below the surface of West Falmouth Harbor. This will be a fun and educational activity for the whole family!

Please dress to get wet and muddy. You do not need a Falmouth shellfishing permit to participate in this event. The Coalition will provide all necessary equipment (rakes, peck baskets, gauges, and waders) for you to use, but you are welcome to bring your own.
