Join the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation for an in-depth examination of Horseneck Beach!
Horseneck Beach is part of a larger coastal ecosystem that includes not only the beach but also the dunes area, a nearby salt marsh, and the waters of Buzzards Bay. Come explore the different zones that make up a sandy beach environment, and how they interact together as a system. We will explore the inter-tidal zone, beach geology, and the coastal plants and animals that live here at Horseneck Beach.
Meet in front of the Campground Bathhouse. Parking for this program is free, but all participants must leave after the program or pay the day parking fee.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress for the weather; bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and a snack. Rain cancels most programs; call ahead to confirm.
Please note that from April 1 to September 15, dogs and other pets are not authorized on the beach, with the exception of service animals.
