Photographic Scavenger Hunt
This event happened in the past.Westport, MA 02790
Join us for an enlightening, playful and painless way to explore, review, and demonstrate some basic approaches to nature photography. Photographer Greg Stone will organize and lead the activity at Gooseberry Island, which is part of the Horseneck Beach State Reservation in Westport.
Registered participants will receive specific assignments, such as making a dynamic seascape image. In addition to brief written explanations in advance, the group will gather with Stone at the Gooseberry Island parking lot for guidance and tips on the hunt.
Keeping covid-19 in mind (using masks and social distancing), participants will then scavenge Gooseberry Island for several hours, looking for ways to fulfill those assignments–in other words you will be learning by doing.
During or after the hunt, participants may stop by the Horseneck Point Life Saving Station for refreshments. Participants will be able to share favorite images in a Facebook Group open only to those who are registered for the event.
Oh – some of you may be asking “What’s a ‘dynamic seascape’?” – well, that’s one of the things that will be explained – briefly – in material you will receive before the hunt.
Registration is free but space is limited, due to limits on the number of people allowed to gather at public events.
