Have you said “thank you” to a wetland lately? Your local bogs and marshes play a huge role in protecting clean water and ensuring the biodiversity of local wildlife!
Join us for World Wetlands Day on February 2 for a walk at Aucoot Woods: White Eagle to explore two different kinds of this habitat: freshwater wetlands and cranberry bogs. We’ll talk about why wetlands are important and see if we can spot any of the animals that call these places home.
To get to the parking area at White Eagle, turn onto Parlowtown Road from Route 6. At the cul-de-sac, turn left onto the dirt road; about half a mile down, you will see the small dirt parking lot on your right, at the southwest corner of the bog.
