Team Buzzards Bay raises over $34,000 for clean water at the Falmouth Road Race
Twenty-four runners for Team Buzzards Bay raced seven miles at the New Balance Falmouth Road Race on August 19, raising an outstanding $34,000 (and counting) for clean water in Buzzards Bay.
For the fourth year in a row, Team Buzzards Bay competed in the New Balance Falmouth Road Race via their Numbers for Nonprofits program, which provides race entries for Massachusetts-based nonprofit organizations to use in fundraising for their causes. The Buzzards Bay Coalition’s 20 invitational entries and four resident runners raised over $34,000 in support of the Coalition’s efforts, which protect and restore clean water in southeastern Massachusetts.
Runners came from Arlington, Brighton, Boston, and all around Buzzards Bay to raise funds and awareness of the need to support clean water. Over 300 unique donors supported the team, as well as Falmouth-based sponsors The Valle Group and Quissett Harbor Boatyard. The team celebrated their accomplishments with an after party in at Kingman Yacht Club in Cataumet, where Top Fundraisers Weatherly Dorris of Falmouth ($8325), Hilary Vineyard of Mattapoisett ($2225), and Christine Gurdon of Attleboro ($1565) were recognized for their outstanding efforts.
You can still support the team by making a donation through the end of August.
