A record 242 cyclists pedaled across Southeastern New England on Sunday during the largest-ever Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride, raising $162,500 and counting to support the Coalition’s work.

Twenty-four runners for Team Buzzards Bay raced seven miles at the New Balance Falmouth Road Race on August 19, raising an outstanding $34,000.

Three hundred fifteen swimmers dove into outer New Bedford Harbor early on the morning of Saturday, June 30 to celebrate clean water in Buzzards Bay during the Coalition’s 25th anniversary Buzzards Bay Swim.

At its 30th Annual Meeting on May 19, the Coalition celebrated another exceptional year of accomplishments and honored three Buzzards Bay Guardians who have given outstanding service to the Bay’s cleanup, restoration, and protection.

Longtime swimmer and Dartmouth resident Nancy Smith first participated in the Buzzards Bay Swim in 2000 and hasn’t missed a year since. Since then, Nancy has recruited other local swimmers to take the plunge with her.

Local decision makers from around the region came together at two free workshops in April to learn about the results of the Coalition’s on-the-ground pilot projects to reduce nitrogen pollution from septic systems.

For his 10th Buzzards Bay Swim and the Swim's 25th anniversary, swimmer Ben Ostiguy has set himself a new challenge: to double his fundraising donations.

With your help, this year the 25th anniversary Buzzards Bay Swim will raise more than $200,000 through a generous matching challenge grant from the Fish Family Foundation.
